House 1563, located in the Val de Vie Estate, represents one of Bergstreme Developments’ most accomplished residential builds to date. This project reflects a strong collaboration between client, architect, and builder, with a clear focus on precision, durability, and execution quality.
House 1563 is a large-scale residential build comprising five bedrooms and six bathrooms, supported by a well-considered layout that includes a dedicated study or studio, a pyjama lounge, and staff accommodation. The home features six garages and three gas fireplaces, reflecting both functional planning and construction complexity. Comfort and performance were prioritised through the installation of central air conditioning, a full irrigation system, and a swimming pool. With an erf size of 1,267 square metres and a total building footprint of 924 square metres, the project required careful coordination and precision execution across all phases of construction.
Constructed in partnership with iCON Architects, the home features a contemporary layout defined by strong structural lines, large glazed openings, and a balanced use of materials such as natural stone, concrete, and refined interior finishes. The build demanded a high level of coordination across multiple trades, particularly in achieving clean junctions, consistent detailing, and seamless indoor to outdoor transitions.
Positioned to take advantage of views toward the Paarl mountains, the house was carefully oriented to maximise natural light while maintaining privacy and thermal comfort. Attention was paid to construction accuracy at every stage, from foundations and structural elements to final finishes.
